Maximum Depth Your third and deepest dive reaches the maximum depth of this specialty, 40 metres, along some of Tenerife's most dramatic volcanic terrain. Your instructor manages every stage closely, keeping the dive calm, controlled and focused purely on going deep. Frequently asked questions Do I need experience before this course? Yes, an SSI Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or Advanced Adventurer rating), with some logged dives recommended. Is deep diving dangerous? Not when properly trained. This course specifically teaches nitrogen narcosis awareness and safe ascent procedures. What will I see at depth? Tenerife's volcanic walls, dramatic drop-offs, wrecks such as the El Condesito, and marine life not found in shallower water. What is the minimum age? 15 years old. Is the certification recognised worldwide? Yes, a lifetime qualification recognised at dive centres in over 180 countries. Can I fly after diving?
