What to expect
Theory Review

We start with a quick review of the essential dive theory, equipment, hand signals, dive planning and safety procedures. Nothing complicated, just a friendly refresher to get your knowledge up to speed before heading into the water.

Skills Practice

Before heading into the open ocean we practise your essential skills in calm, shallow water. Mask clearing, regulator recovery, buoyancy control, everything you need to feel completely comfortable and confident underwater again. Your instructor will work at your pace and make sure you feel 100% ready before the ocean dives.

2 Ocean Dives

The best part, two relaxed and enjoyable dives in Tenerife's crystal clear Atlantic waters. Volcanic rock formations, tropical fish, moray eels and octopus all around you. By the end of your second dive you will wonder why you ever stopped diving in the first place.

Frequently asked questions
Who is the Scuba Refresher for?

Certified divers who haven't been in the water for a year or more, or anyone who wants to shake off the rust before a fun dive or another course.

Do I need to bring my certification card?

Yes, please bring your card or let us know your agency and level when booking. If you've lost it, contact us beforehand and we'll help sort a replacement.

How long has it been too long since my last dive?

We recommend a refresher after 1 year or more without diving, but if you feel rusty or nervous at any point, a refresher is always a good idea.

Can I continue my dive education after?

Absolutely, many students refresh and then move straight into Advanced Open Water, Rescue or a specialty during the same holiday.

What equipment do I need?

Nothing, all scuba equipment is included. If you have your own gear, you're welcome to use it.

What happens if sea conditions aren't suitable?

We reschedule or move to an alternative sheltered site.

Can I fly afterwards?

Flying before diving is fine. After your dive, wait at least 18 to 24 hours before flying home.

Can I do this if I'm nervous about diving again?

Absolutely, this is one of the most common reasons people book a refresher. We work completely at your pace with no rushing.
