Frequently asked questions
Do I need any experience to try this?

No experience whatsoever is needed. This program is designed specifically for complete first-timers. You don't need any diving knowledge or previous experience with scuba gear, just basic comfort in the water. Your instructor teaches you everything before you enter the ocean.

Is it safe for complete beginners?

Yes. You are always under the direct supervision of your instructor, who stays right by your side for every second of every dive. Before entering the ocean you practise essential safety skills in shallow, confined water so you feel completely ready.

What is the minimum age?

The minimum age is 10 years old, making this a great family activity in Tenerife. Children aged 10 and above can experience breathing underwater for the first time alongside their parents.

Can these dives count towards a certification?

Yes. One of your dives can be credited towards the full SSI Open Water or Scuba Diver certification, as long as you continue within 6 months. So if you fall in love with diving, you can pick up where you left off.

How long does it take?

The whole experience takes roughly 2 to 5 hours depending on whether you choose 1 or 2 dives, including the briefing, the skills check and your dive or dives.

What should I bring?

Just a swimsuit, a towel and a sense of adventure. All scuba equipment is provided. We recommend sunscreen, a bottle of water and comfortable shoes for getting to the dive site.

Can I fly afterwards?

You can fly to Tenerife and dive the same day. However after your dives you should wait at least 18 to 24 hours before flying home, a standard safety guideline for all divers worldwide.
