What to expect

Dive 1. Deep Theory & First Deep Dive

Your first dive day covers deep dive theory: dive planning, gas management, nitrogen narcosis awareness, and safe ascent procedures. Then it is straight into the water for your first deep dive, down to around 18-25 metres. Your instructor guides every step.

Dive 2. Deeper Along the Volcanic Walls

Your second dive takes you progressively deeper along Tenerife's dramatic volcanic walls, formations and marine life you simply cannot see in shallower water. Building your confidence metre by metre.

Dive 3. Maximum Depth

Your third and deepest dive reaches the maximum depth of this specialty, 40 metres, along some of Tenerife's most dramatic volcanic terrain. Your instructor manages every stage closely, keeping the dive calm, controlled and focused purely on going deep.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need experience before this course?

Yes, an SSI Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or Advanced Adventurer rating), with some logged dives recommended.

Is deep diving dangerous?

Not when properly trained. This course specifically teaches nitrogen narcosis awareness and safe ascent procedures.

What will I see at depth?

Tenerife's volcanic walls, dramatic drop-offs, wrecks such as the El Condesito, and marine life not found in shallower water.

What is the minimum age?

15 years old.

Is the certification recognised worldwide?

Yes, a lifetime qualification recognised at dive centres in over 180 countries.

Can I fly after diving?

Wait at least 18 to 24 hours after your last dive before flying home.
